Last Chance To Transfer American Express Points To Continental

The day has arrived.  September 30th marks your last opportunity to transfer American Express Membership Rewards Points to your Continental Airlines One Pass account. I just transferred some points, and several of my friends did as well. There was something I wanted to point out: Continental points don’t expire. But, there was a disclosure when I did my transfer that said that once the merger is complete between Continental and United Airlines, the miles will become United miles that WILL expire if the account is inactive for 18 months. Last Chance To Transfer Amex Points To Continental Coming Up!

I’ve traveled all over the place using American Express Membership Rewards Points, and many of those trips were made because I transferred those Amex points to my Continental Airlines frequent flyer account. That partnership, between Amex and Continental is ending very soon. How soon? The end of September. While many have wondered if they should leave their Amex points in their Amex accounts or transfer some of those points to Continental, my belief is if you know you will be taking a trip soon and want to use either a Star Alliance carrier, Continental or United Airlines, you SHOULD transfer at least some of  your points over to Continental now. One Way Rewards Coming June 15th To Continental
