Jet-setter Logan with jetcharters.com shares his choices for the most romantic destinations in the world — right in time for Valentine’s Day. One thing is certain: Jet-setting to these amazing destinations on a private charter sounds pretty romantic! Thanks Logan for sharing this with us!

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and what better way to proclaim your love than to take it all over the world? Instead of renting a movie and making dinner, try packing your bags, booking an air charter and setting out for a romantic spot to share the holiday with your mate.

Aspen

Aspen is a small community tucked into Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. The quaint town boasts some of the most beautiful and serene mountain landscapes in the world and is also a hot spot for skiing enthusiasts. If you’re not looking to get your exercise on the slopes, snuggle up in a plush cabin and enjoy the warmth of some hot cocoa and a fire. T Lazy 7 Ranch makes for a great day trip where travelers can ride horses and go on camping excursions.

Paris

Paris has been the setting for more romance movies than I care to count. But there’s a reason the City of Lights has become synonymous with love. The sheer volume of options for two lovers in this city is almost overwhelming. Take a stroll along the Champs d’ Elysees, enjoy a meal and some people watching at a sidewalk café or gaze over the city from atop the Eiffel Tower. Take in a few of the art museums that contain some of the greatest tributes of love ever documented. You’re sure to end up saying “je t’aime” to your lover at least a dozen times by the end of the trip.

Agra

Agra, India is an exotic locale to make your Valentine’s Day love nest. Most notably, the city is home to the Taj Mahal. The temple stands as one of the largest and most beautiful displays of affection ever. In 1632, Mughal emperor Shah Jahan put thousands of artisans and craftsmen to work constructing the temple as a shrine to his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It took 21 years to reach completion and it still stands as one of the most beautiful structures in the world. Agra also contains the Red Fort, a former stronghold of the Mughal Empire. Fatehpur Sikri is also located near Agra and served as the imperial city of the empire from 1571 to 1584. Fatehpur Sikri still contains some of the fantastic structures built during this time, such as the Imperial Ghost City, a host of palaces and shrines.

I just returned from a week in New Zealand. First thing you need to know: a week is not nearly enough time to see this magnificent country. We spent the bulk of our time in Queenstown, in the south island, which is the area where a lot of The Lord Of The Rings films were made. Breathtakingly beautiful doesn’t even begin to describe it. Our hotel in Queenstown was the perfect place to begin our exploration: The Rees Hotel and Luxury Apartments. Think cool, 2-bedroom apartment with all the luxuries of a hotel: Spa, gourmet restaurant, housekeeping. Here’s a look!

Free points. I like the way that sounds. And by joining up with the Rewards Dining Network, you too can earn free points while you dine. This is another little trick I’ve discovered over the years. It basically works like this: You enroll your credit cards in the program (for free,) and when you dine at a participating restaurant and use one of your enrolled credit cards to pay, you get points. Those points can apply to one of 14 reward programs, including Delta, American Airlines and United. Simple, easy. A lot of times, I’ll be eating out and not even realizing I’m earning extra points in the process. Here’s a little tutorial on how it works.

This is a short video I saw for The George Hotel in Christchurch, New Zealand that I wanted to share. The George, as its commonly referred to, is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World member. I’m soon to be staying there, and very excited about it! What struck me about this video is the way it was shot and edited. You will see right away that it is not your usual tour of a hotel, but rather done in an artsy style that gives a very clear understanding of what this boutique property has to offer its guests. Enjoy!

Several times a year, US Airways has promotions in which you can buy, gift or transfer miles and earn double points. At one point, it was an amazingly good deal. You used to be able to buy 50,000 points which when doubled became 100,000 points for $1,378 all in. 100,000 points was enough to get you to Europe in business class from the U.S., provided the award seats were there. Since that time, US Airways has increased the cost of buying miles, so that amazing deal isn’t there any longer. There is, however, a new deal in place that will allow you (up until the end of the year,) to buy 50,000 points and get 40,000 free. Cost = $1,750. You can see the difference in price from the past deal which actually gave you 10,000 more points. Still, 90,000 points is not bad, especially if you already have points in your US Airways account and wanted to add some to get to that magic number you needed to take that dream trip. Note, you’re US Airways frequent flyer account must be opened at least 12 days for you to be able to buy the miles. So you may want to make sure you are eligible. This is the link to the promotion.

Here’s the fine print as taken from the US Airways website:

Offer available for purchases made between December 1 and 31, 2011, 11:59 MT. All purchases are non-refundable. Bonus miles will be awarded upon completion of the transaction. The maximum number of Buy Bonus miles that can be received by one member for this offer is 40,000 bonus miles. All miles purchased beyond this limit will not be eligible for a bonus. Offer is subject to change. Offer cannot be combined with any other offer. Share transactions are not eligible for bonus. Only purchases made online are eligible for the bonus. Miles are sold for $0.035 per mile plus a tax recovery charge of 7.5%. GST/HST will be charged to Canadian residents. Miles purchased through Buy, Share or Gift Miles do not count towards Dividend Miles Preferred status. All other Dividend Miles Terms and Conditions apply. Miles may be used based on award availability at the time of booking. Please note that Dividend Miles accounts less than 12 days old are not permitted to Buy, Share or Gift Miles. All purchases are non-refundable.

In this particular case, it is room 513 at The Westin Grand Hotel In Berlin. The room, is affectionately known as the “Spa Suite.” In fact, that’s what it says right on the door. Normally, the cost of this suite is upwards of 500 euro a night. I got it using points and paying a supplement of around 78 euro a night. Not bad. I even extended my stay in Berlin (not only because it is such a great city which you will see here in my Berlin video post,) but also because I didn’t want to give up another night in this incredible suite! I must disclose I am a huge fan of Starwood Hotels and currently hold Platinum Status.

This is beyond cool IF, and I stress, IF you have a lot of money to burn. Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is offering up the chance to travel “Around the world by private jet.” During the 22 day trip, you’ll be wined and dined, and in true jet-setting fashion, whisked off to places like the Taj Mahal in India, The Pyramids in Egypt, and Heaven on Earth in Bora Bora. You’ll stay at Four Seasons Resorts in 5 star accommodations along the way, and of course, fly in style. Cost? around $70,000 a person. If anyone out there wishes to sponsor me, I promise to blog about it, and share some amazing stories. I’m great company too! Here’s more on this deal of a lifetime.
